Roosevelt|Energy Scholarship
The University of Wisconsin - Madison Chapter of the Roosevelt Institution is awarding $2,000 to a committed second semester freshman interested in working with the Roosevelt Institution for the remainder of their time at the university.
The Roosevelt Institution is a nationwide, student-run think-tank designed to give students an opportunity to participate in the policymaking process. It is founded on the idea that students are uniquely situated to create policy because of their access to academic resources and their lack of political debts to pay. The UW-Madison chapter has been one of the most active and influential chapters of the Roosevelt Institution, engaging in activities like presenting policy proposals to the state legislature, publishing a regular policy report, and coordinating and hosting the Roosevelt|Energy, a conference on the future of energy policy in the fall of 2007.
We are seeking a dedicated second semester freshman willing to work with the Roosevelt Institution at UW-Madison for the rest of their time at the university to ensure that the Madison chapter continues to perform at the level of excellence for which it has become known.
Applicants should have a good grasp of the basics of public policy formulation, strong interpersonal communication skills, a demonstrated history of analytical thinking, and a willingness to commit time and energy to the UW-Madison chapter of the Roosevelt Institution.
Students will receive an award of $500 per semester up to a total of $2,000.
Applications will be available in October of 2007.
Questions regarding the scholarship should be addressed to scholarship@rooseveltenergy.org.
